Fate and Destiny:

Most of us experience two births.

One birth comes out of spirit. The light in an infant’s eyes draws all of us because of the spontaneity and aliveness that exudes from that inner expression, from the light of spirit manifesting in the world.

The second birth comes later. It comes about as we adapt to what our parents and the people we interact with expect of us and, over time, what we expect of ourselves. Eventually, we may experience that adapted part of us through our mind, ego, pre-anticipation, or self-identity, which pulls our focus and awareness. Over time, many people come to believe that this is who they are, or that this is all they are.

There is a third birth, a reconnection to our source, a rebirth. It is the path of the mystical and spiritual traditions and engages our inner work. All true paths have in common the first part of the process: clearing and removing what holds us back while strengthening what moves us forward.
